Why choose History Optional?

In UPSC CSE, choosing an optional is a major decision: it carries 500 of the 1750 marks in Mains and shapes a substantial part of your preparation.

History broadens perspective and encourages a mature, analytical view of contemporary issues by tracing how societies, institutions and ideas developed over time.
